Our methods are directly influenced by top coaches like Mike Bianco from Ole Miss, Hall of Famer Ron Polk from Mississippi State, Hall of Famer Mike Martin from Florida State University, and Steve Renfroe from Auburn University.

Our coaching staff is led by a former D1 Catcher/3rd Baseman Michael "Goose" McCollum who excelled on and off the field while playing baseball at Auburn University 2005-2008. O.B. Baseball Skillz offer techniques and pitching mechanics taught by former Major League Baseball Player and Scout Steve Shields from Hokes Bluff, Alabama. Several Hall of Fame Coaches from multiple S.E.C. Baseball Programs such as Ole Miss's Mike Bianca, Mississippi State's Hall of Fame Coach Ron Polk, Florida State's Hall of Fame Coach Mike Martin and Auburn's Retired Head Coach Steve Renfroe bring an unparalleled experience and knowledge to every session. Michael "Goose" McCollum
Owner of Obbaseballskillz.com and Director of all Operations. I was born to my mother Lee Ann Collins on July 17th 1985 in Crawfordsville, Arkansas and at the age of 5. I was adopted by David McCollum and up and moved to Northeast Alabama where I continued to play football basketball and baseball in every recreation league Gadsden, AL had to offer. I continued my sports and athletics for the next 15 years whether I was playing myself or watching my mother coach never missing a day or an opportunity to learn about the game. I went to Hokes Bluff High School winning the school's only football state championship in 2001 and went to the state baseball playoff finals all of my four years before winning it all my senior year going 28-4 batting clean up and hitting .489 with state record in most put outs by catcher in one game and the least amount of strikeouts per at bats for any catcher in the state that year striking out only two times out of 525+ at bats. Once I was ready to graduate high school I had several different small offers for baseball scholarships and ended up signing at Gadsden State Community College initially where I played two years at third base before signing at Auburn University and becoming a catcher and designated hitter from 2004-2007. After moving back to Gadsden I proceeded to coach babe Ruth League Baseball 13-year-olds for several years and served on the commissioner board before moving to Olive Branch Mississippi in 2015 starting a small construction business and getting back into coaching with the 10 and under Phillies and Olive Branch All Stars in Olive Branch Mississippi.
